The purpose of this research is the realization of new microcontroller based method for machine health monitoring. An attempt has been made to study the vibration level and to explore the possibility of establishing complete new PIC based hardware and software vibration diagnostic platform. Hardware platform is based on utilization of 10-bit microcontroller upgraded by 12-bit AC/DC converter. Software for acquisition and data analyses is adjusted to specific research needs rotary machines 50-300kW and 1000-2000 rpm. Custom made, microcontroller vibration monitoring system is tested in controlled laboratory environment and in exploitation environment. During exploitation period system was used to determent rotary pumps condition in Nis aqueduct system. Resultants of tests show that complete accuracy in laboratory environment and practical utilization in working environment. Microcontroller based vibro-diagnostics system is practical tool for machine health monitoring with advantage of adjusting, customizing monitoring system for cretin specific requirements.
