High-quality vehicle design (of a new and/or an innovated vehicle) demands significant resources and, without taking into consideration modern technologies, also demands relatively long period of time for over 500 activities and for nearly 500 global documents of hundreds of attached important decisions. Analysis and synthesis of knowledge and experience from perennial development of quality system products supported by information technologies (IT) are systematized in the paper. Universal, completed totality of phase design, distribution of responsibilities and resources of a strategic project are presented through numerous activities, decisions and documents for an example of designing the vehicle as one of the most complex technical products.
