As a journal committed to excellence in applied engineering science, the Journal of Applied Engineering Science (JAES) continuously supports initiatives that bridge the gap between academia and industry. One such notable initiative is the 50th Scientific and Professional Conference “Maintenance of Machines and Equipment – OMO 2025”, held within the framework of the 10th Maintenance Forum. This milestone edition of the OMO conference celebrates five decades of dedicated contributions to the development and implementation of advanced maintenance systems and practices.
With its central theme, “Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Maintenance,” OMO 2025 highlighted the pivotal role of maintenance in supporting broader societal objectives, including the energy transition, resource optimization, and industrial resilience. The program was carefully designed to balance academic depth with industrial relevance, focusing on applicable knowledge, experience sharing, and forward-looking engineering solutions.
Conference panels addressed a diverse set of topics, such as asset management, infrastructure maintenance, preventive and predictive strategies, technologies and tools used in maintenance, quality management, condition monitoring, ICT-based solutions (e-maintenance), and smart maintenance practices within supply chains. This comprehensive coverage ensured that discussions remained both multidisciplinary and firmly rooted in real-world challenges.
Through invited talks, peer-reviewed papers, panel discussions, and informal gatherings, OMO 2025 fostered constructive dialogue among researchers, practitioners, and policy makers.
