Procedures and methods for rational maintenance of pavement structures are often required in the world. Roads, in time gets damaged. The causes of their reduced capacity and the appearance of cracks, depressions and holes can be numerous. It might just be the wrong done tampon layer, i.e. subsidence due to loading. Hydrological conditions are responsible for damage occurrence. Maintenance is the process of preserving the elements of pavement - the road, with respect to security and usability. It is very important to intervene on time and when the fi rst damages appears, and prevent further road loading. Failures that prevent the normal exploitation of a roads are considered as pavement damage, that reduce the safety or comfort of driving. The maintenance type depends on the category and the type of damage. The paper presents aspect of maintaining pavement structures and analyze the situation in the pavement of Nicholaja Velimirovića street in Niš.
